Seth Sutel is a seasoned journalist with extensive experience in financial reporting and media coverage. Since January 2009, Seth has served as the Deputy Financial Markets Editor at The Associated Press, leading a team that addresses the financial markets and banking industry. Prior to this role, Seth worked as a Media Industry Reporter at The Associated Press from 1999 to 2008 and as a Reporter/Editor in the Tokyo Bureau from 1990 to 1997. Initial journalistic experience includes a position as a Copy Editor at The Japan Times in 1990. Seth's academic credentials include a Knight-Wallace Fellowship in Business Journalism from the University of Michigan (2002-2003) and a B.A. with Honors in History from the University of California, Berkeley (1984-1988), alongside education at Phillips Exeter Academy (1981-1984).
