Sofía Ortega

Sofía Ortega is an experienced media professional with a diverse background in journalism and marketing. Currently a Freelance Producer and Video Journalist at The Associated Press since June 2018, Sofía excels in in-depth research, bilingual reporting, and video production. Previous roles include Global Assignment Intern at The Associated Press, Research Assistant at the Public Policy Forum, and Intern at Global News, where responsibilities spanned from multi-format reporting to field producing during provincial elections. Prior to journalism, Sofía was a Marketing Manager at Mannatech Incorporated and a Brand Manager Jr. at Novartis, focusing on nationwide marketing strategies and event logistics. Sofía holds a Master’s degree in Journalism from the University of King's College and a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Universidad de Guadalajara.
