Ted Shaffrey

Ted Shaffrey is an experienced video journalist with over two decades of expertise in news reporting and production. Currently at the Associated Press since May 2002, Shaffrey constructs video reports on a variety of topics and conducts interviews while writing broadcast scripts. Previous roles include working as a newsperson covering breaking news in Connecticut and New York, and as a producer for News 12 Connecticut and WFSB TV, where responsibilities included managing live television news programs and assignment desks. Earlier in the career, as a reporter for the Los Angeles Times, Shaffrey specialized in breaking news related to crime, courts, education, and government. Shaffrey holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Philosophy with a minor in Film Production from the University of Pittsburgh.
