The ACB was established on July 18, 1993, in Tétouan, initiated by young people with disabilities and their friends.

Since the beginning, the ACB has sought to create a unique associative experience in the field of disability, by promoting people with disabilities to lead their organizations and address their own concerns.

From the outset, the ACB adopted a human rights-based approach to address disability, contrary to the prevailing protectionist and charity-based view.

During its initial years, the ACB pursued a dual approach: one based on rights and the other on services, with a clear preference for the rights-based approach and advocacy.

In the late 1990s and throughout 2001-2010, the ACB focused on vocational training and integration for people with disabilities through the project "Training and Support Center for the Professional Integration of People with Disabilities."

Subsequently, the ACB has worked on various issues: laws related to people with disabilities (PWD), the International Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, women with disabilities, accessibility, public policies, and media...
