John Ryu

John is a seasoned startup operating executive with early stage investment experience and an early operator of Assurely working directly with David. John was integral to the birth of Assurely and remains an active advisor.

John is the founder and general partner of Hypothesis, a studio, accelerator, and pre-seed fund. Previously, he was a member of the Scout Ventures team since 2011 focusing on consumer internet, mobile, and ad tech before being crucial to the genesis of Assurely in 2012. He currently sits on their board.

John’s previous experience includes product management at WebMD and Microsoft, Senior Director at WhenU, management consulting at Cap Gemini Ernst & Young, and investing at Prism VentureWorks.

John graduated from Yale University with BA in Economics and UC Berkeley with an MBA from the Haas School of Business.
