Bowei Dong is a Principal Scientist at the Institute of Microelectronics since December 2023, previously serving as a Senior Scientist. Prior experience includes a role as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Oxford from December 2021 to January 2024, where Bowei Dong focused on system-level photonics applications and developed photonic neuromorphic computing architectures for accelerating AI. Additionally, as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the National University of Singapore from August 2019 to December 2021, Bowei Dong concentrated on device-level photonics, developing mid-infrared waveguide-integrated transceivers, gas sensors, and photonic human-machine interfaces. Earlier experience includes a position as a Research Assistant at the Institute of Microelectronics from April 2016 to April 2019, focusing on the development of mid-infrared AlN photonics and integrated AlN/Si hybrid photonics platforms. Bowei Dong holds a PhD in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the National University of Singapore and a Bachelor's degree in Theoretical Physics and Mathematics from Nanyang Technological University Singapore.
