Daniel Chen

Senior Scientist

Daniel Chen is a Senior Scientist at the Institute of Microelectronics since September 2020, leading projects that bridge research and industry, particularly in the development of PMUTs and MEMS sensor technologies for the semiconductor sector. As the Deputy lead of the Acoustic MEMS team, Daniel manages a group of nine scientists and research engineers. Daniel is also a key member of the Piezo Specialty Lab-in-a-Fab project with STMicroelectronics, focusing on next-generation piezo MEMS and providing MPW services. Previously, Daniel served as Principal Investigator for the Ultrasonic Wavefront Computing project and held various academic positions at UNSW, including Casual lecturer and Research Associate. Daniel holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications, a Master's in Microelectronics and Microsystems, and a Bachelor's in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
