Heidi Westermann

Heidi Westermann has a diverse work experience in the field of public health and data analysis. Heidi'smost recent position was as the Director of Data Modernization & Informatics at the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials, where they were responsible for leadership and programmatic implementation in the field of public health systems improvement. Prior to this, they held the role of Director of Public Health Systems & Planning at the same organization, where they managed federally funded projects and provided technical assistance to state and territorial health agencies. Earlier in their career, they served as a Clinical Instructor at the University of Vermont and held various roles at the Vermont Department of Health, including Director of Performance Management and Public Health Analyst. Heidi also worked as a CDC/CSTE Applied Epidemiology Fellow at the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, where they analyzed HIV surveillance data and contributed to grant drafting. Additionally, they gained experience in health and safety as a Health & Safety Intern at General Electric. Heidi has a strong academic background, having completed a TTURC Summer Fellowship at Yale University and worked as a Research Aide at Weill Cornell Medical College. Heidi also served as an AmeriCorps Site Leader at Habitat for Humanity - New York City. Heidi Westermann holds a BA degree in Science, Technology & Society from Vassar College, which they completed from 2000 to 2004. Heidi later pursued an MPH in Chronic Disease Epidemiology from the Yale School of Public Health, graduating between 2007 and 2009.
