Kate Petersen is the Senior Director for Infectious Disease Infrastructure and Policy at the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials, where they provide oversight for the organization's infectious disease policy team and manage federally-funded programs. Previously, they served as the Director of Emerging Infections, managing project activities for critical health initiatives. Kate began their career at the Center for Health and Health Care in Schools as a Graduate Research Assistant, contributing to a foundation-funded program for children's mental health. They have also worked as a Public Health Field Volunteer in Belize and held various roles at NACCHO, focusing on HIV/STD prevention and immunization initiatives. Kate is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Political Science while working on a Masters of Public Health in Epidemiology at The George Washington University.
