Ross Smith

Ross Smith is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in the automotive and construction sectors. Currently serving as a Senior Engineer in BIW & Closures at Aston Martin Lagonda Ltd since August 2023, Ross previously held various engineering roles at Switch Mobility, including Acting Principal Engineer and Senior Engineer, focusing on body structures for electric vehicles. With a background that includes design engineering at Optare PLC and Laing O’Rourke, Ross played a pivotal role in new product development, complex engineering drawings, and project management within BIM level 2 frameworks. Ross began the career as a welder and fabricator and has developed a strong skill set in CAD technologies, having earned a BSc (Hons) in Computer Aided Design & Technologies from Sheffield Hallam University.
