Sam Boling is a highly experienced mechanical engineer with a strong background in aerospace and engineering. Currently serving as a Stage Mechanical Engineer at Astra since January 2022, Sam previously held several key roles at the Michigan Aeronautical Science Association (MASA), including Lead Structural Engineer, Thrust Transfer Structure Lead Engineer, and Structures Engineer. Notable achievements include leading the design and construction of a student-designed liquid bi-propellant rocket that reached 100 km, winning the Spaceport America Cup with a hybrid rocket, and developing a bi-propellant engine. Sam gained additional experience through internships at Momentus and Northrop Grumman, and contributed to various projects from solar arrays to rocket components. With a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor's degree from the same institution, Sam possesses extensive technical skills and a proven track record in engineering design and development.
