John Bowen

Vice President Of Spacecraft Engineering

John Bowen serves as the Vice President of Spacecraft Engineering at Astranis Space Technologies, overseeing a comprehensive organization responsible for various engineering disciplines including Mechanical, Thermal, Propulsion, and more since January 2017. Prior to this role, John was instrumental as a GNC individual contributor and team lead, as well as the Program Manager for Astranis's first GEO mission, Arcturus. Experience at Tyvak Nano-Satellite Systems includes serving as Mission Engineering Lead and managing programs for commercial and governmental clients. A tenure at Orbital Sciences Corporation as a Senior Engineer focused on GNC technologies complements earlier work at PolySat as the Attitude Determination & Control Team Lead. Additionally, John's academic contribution as a lecturer at California Polytechnic State University and a recipient of the Lockheed Martin Teaching Award underscores a commitment to education in aerospace engineering. John holds both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo.
