Michael Coney is an experienced thermal engineer with a background in spacecraft thermal control systems. Currently serving as a Senior Thermal Engineer at Astranis Space Technologies since April 2024, Michael previously held positions at BLUE ORIGIN as Environmental Test Engineer 2 and at Spaceflight Inc. as Thermal Engineer. Notably, Michael led thermal engineering efforts for multiple satellite programs at LeoStella and Millennium Space Systems, demonstrating expertise in thermal analysis and design for notable projects including LandSat 9 and ICESat-2. Michael began the engineering career as a Material Engineering Intern at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, focusing on advanced thermoelectrics, and holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from California State University, Fullerton.
