Alan Race

Alan Race is an Associate Director and Team Lead in Computer Vision and AI, currently at AstraZeneca. They have expertise in statistical analysis and data integration across multiple imaging sources, particularly in the biological sciences. Alan completed their doctoral research at the University of Birmingham, focusing on large mass spectrometry imaging datasets, and furthered their postdoctoral research at institutions such as Universität Bayreuth and The Philipp University of Marburg, where they developed novel statistical methods and improved standards in mass spectrometry imaging. Alan holds a Master of Engineering in Computer Science and Software Engineering, as well as a Master of Science in Physical Sciences of Imaging in the Biomedical Sciences, both from the University of Birmingham.
