Alex Alderton is a highly experienced scientist with a strong background in biochemistry and microbiology. Alex earned a BSc in Biochemistry from the University of Bristol and a PhD in Microbiology from the University of Kent. Alex's career includes positions at Pfizer as a Senior Scientist and Principal Scientist from May 2007 to June 2009, and a role as a Post-Doc at the University of Bath from 2004 to 2006. From December 2015 to September 2017, Alex served as the Head of Cellular Generation and Phenotyping, Head of Cellular Operations, and Senior Scientific Manager of Stem Cells and Cellular Phenotyping at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute. Currently, Alex holds the position of Senior Director of High Throughput Screening at AstraZeneca since November 2021.
