Annie Westerlund

Annie Westerlund is an Associate Principal Scientist at AstraZeneca, leading the research and development of the property prediction platform Qsartuna while overseeing drug discovery projects and software development. Previously, as a Senior Scientist at AstraZeneca, Annie contributed to synthesis planning and reaction predictions, focusing on transformer models and multistep retrosynthesis, and maintained notable open-source software. A postdoctoral researcher at Deutsches Herzzentrum München and Helmholt Zentrum München, Annie worked on cardiovascular risk prediction utilizing clinical and bioinformatics data. Annie holds a PhD in Computational Biophysics from KTH Royal Institute of Technology and has a strong background in algorithm development for autonomous vehicles and computational modeling in various domains.
