Ashley Birch

Ashley Birch has extensive experience in regulatory and information strategy within the pharmaceutical sector, currently serving as the Global Head of Information Strategy, Systems and Analytics at AstraZeneca since January 2009. In this role, Ashley manages AstraZeneca's Regulatory and Patient Safety systems and related business services. Previously, Ashley held the position of Global Head of Regulatory Knowledge and Systems Governance, overseeing the Global Electronic Library (GEL), which serves over 10,000 users across more than 50 countries. Prior to joining AstraZeneca, Ashley was a Senior Research Associate at the University of Zurich, leading a research team in the Organic Chemistry Institute, and has a background as a Post-doctoral Research Fellow at ETH Zürich, focusing on genetic studies in microbiology. Ashley's educational background includes a Post-doc in Molecular Biology from ETH Zürich and further studies at the University of Zurich.
