Ben Challis is currently the VP & Head of Translational Science & Early Clinical Development at AstraZeneca, a position held since 2025. Previously, Ben served as a Director Physician and Team Lead in Experimental Medicine, as well as in early clinical development roles at AstraZeneca. Ben has also been a Fellow & Director of Studies in Clinical Medicine at St Edmund's College, University of Cambridge, since 2016, and held an honorary consultant position at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Ben earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Biochemistry, alongside a Master of Philosophy in Translational Medicine & Therapeutics from the University of Cambridge, where a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery was also obtained. Ben holds a BSc in Biochemistry & Chemistry from Western University.
