Colin Flinders

Colin Flinders is a seasoned professional in the biotech and pharmaceutical industries with extensive experience in program management and research. Currently serving as Associate Director of CMC Program Management at AstraZeneca since July 2025, Colin previously held the position of Principal Scientist at Appia Bio from October 2021 to July 2025. Prior roles include Senior Research Scientist and Research Scientist at Kite Pharma, and Research Associate at The Lawrence J. Ellison Institute for Transformative Medicine of USC, where Colin contributed to research on tumor hypoxia and colorectal cancer models. This expertise is built upon a strong research foundation as a Postdoctoral Scholar at the University of Southern California and a Graduate Student at UCLA, culminating in a Ph.D. in Biological Chemistry from UCLA and a Bachelor's degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of California, Berkeley. Additionally, Colin contributed to innovative developments at Sangamo Therapeutics, focusing on zinc finger nucleases for CAR-T cell production.
