Edward Morrissey

Edward Morrissey is currently the Director of Data Sciences and Quantitative Biology at AstraZeneca, where they apply statistical machine learning and probabilistic modelling to biomedical problems. They previously served as a Principal Investigator at the University of Oxford from 2016 to 2022, leading a research group focused on probabilistic modelling and deep learning to explore cellular fate and genomic dynamics. Edward completed a PhD in Applied Bayesian Inference at the University of Warwick after earning an MSc in Systems Biology and a Master of Physics in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Prior to their current role, Edward worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Cambridge from 2011 to 2016 and was a Visiting Researcher at Boston University in 2010.
