Elke Platz

Elke Platz is a Global Development Medical Director at AstraZeneca, specializing in Late CVRM within Biopharmaceuticals R&D. A physician-scientist and collaborative leader, Elke has focused on the prevention, detection, and treatment of cardiovascular diseases for over 15 years. Previously, they served in various leadership roles at Brigham and Women's Hospital and held academic positions as an Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School. Elke co-founded the International Emergency Department Leadership Institute and has contributed to the development of international clinical guidelines while mentoring the next generation of physicians and scientists. Currently, they continue their education with a Doctor of Medicine from The Philipp University of Marburg and a Master of Science in Health Care Management from Harvard University.
