Julia Johansson

Julia Johansson is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in safety science and drug discovery, currently serving as Senior Director and Global Head of Safety Science and Discovery for Respiratory & Immunology at AstraZeneca since September 2015. Previous roles at AstraZeneca include Director of Safety Science across multiple therapeutic areas and Associate Principal Scientist, where Julia managed teams and contributed to safety strategies from target conception to drug candidates. Prior to AstraZeneca, Julia worked as a Senior Researcher at Dfind Science & Engineering, focusing on safety assessments in drug projects, and held academic positions at the University of Gothenburg, where research concentrated on physiology and endocrinology. Julia holds a PhD in Physiology from the University of Gothenburg and a Master’s degree in medical biotechnology from Umeå University.
