Katherine Smith

Katherine Smith is a Principal Scientist at AstraZeneca, specializing in genomics and its impact on medical research. With a multidisciplinary background, Katherine holds a Ph.D. in Human/Medical Genetics and a Master's in Biostatistics, both from the University of Melbourne. From 2014 to 2019, Katherine led Rare Disease Analysis and Bioinformatics at Genomics England and previously worked as a Computational Scientist at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research. Their early career includes roles as a Research Assistant at both the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute.
