Michele Sample has extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry, particularly in oncology clinical operations. From September 2006 to April 2015, at GlaxoSmithKline, Michele served as Vice President of Oncology Clinical and Operational Sciences, overseeing a global research budget of $2 billion and facilitating the integration of 250 colleagues to secure six approved NDAs/SNDAs. Following this, from August 2015 to March 2020, Michele worked as Vice President of Development Operations at Incyte, managing a $500 million budget and delivering 16 compounds across 18 indications with a team of 125. A brief tenure as Vice President at Novartis in mid-2015 included a crucial role in the merger of GSK and Novartis Oncology research portfolios. Since March 2020, Michele has been with AstraZeneca as Vice President of Late Development Oncology Clinical Operations, leading a global team of over 1,500 in managing Phase II and III clinical trials in 25 markets. Michele holds a Master's degree in Clinical Research Organization and Management from Drexel University and a BSN in Nursing from Widener University.
