Mikael Persson

Mikael Persson is an experienced executive in the field of safety science, currently serving as the Executive Director and Global Head of Safety for the Cardiovascular, Renal & Metabolism Therapy Area at AstraZeneca. Prior roles include Senior Director of Safety Science and Director for Safety Science and Discovery CVRM at the same company. Mikael's earlier career included positions at Lundbeck as Principal Exploratory Toxicologist and at Abbott Laboratories as Laboratory Leader for high content imaging/screening. Additionally, Mikael has a strong academic background, having completed a PhD in Medicine/Neurobiology at the University of Gothenburg and an MSc in Biochemistry/Neurochemistry at Stockholm University.
