Reece Knippel

Reece Knippel, PhD, currently serves as a Senior Scientist at AstraZeneca since February 2023. Prior to this role, Reece worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine from March 2020 to January 2023 and completed a Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology at Vanderbilt University between 2014 and 2020, focusing on heme homeostasis in Clostridioides difficile pathogenesis. Reece's earlier experience includes positions as a Lab Manager and Lab Instructor at Boise State University, as well as conducting research on antibiotic targets during a Master's program in Chemistry at the same institution. Reece began academic research as an Undergraduate Researcher, developing methods for vaccine strategies involving West Nile Virus antigens. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and advanced degrees in Chemistry and Microbiology.
