Rick Fairhurst MD

Rick Fairhurst, MD PhD, is a physician-scientist and currently serves as the Senior Medical Director for Cancer Immunotherapies at AstraZeneca, where they lead initiatives involving T-cell engagers and immuno-cytokines. Previously, they held positions as a Senior Safety Physician at AstraZeneca and Clinical Investigator at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, focusing on malaria pathogenesis and drug resistance. Rick also served as the President of the American Committee of Molecular, Cellular, and Immuno-Parasitology at the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene. They received their MD/PhD from the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA after completing a BA in English Language and Literature at the University of California, Davis.
