Ruth March, PhD, OBE, FMedSci, serves as the Senior Vice President of Precision Medicine and Biosamples at AstraZeneca, where they are responsible for developing diagnostic tests linked to drug projects and overseeing a global team of over 250 experts. Dr. March has significantly advanced AstraZeneca’s reputation in precision medicine, leading to the launch of four drugs associated with companion diagnostics and the delivery of 50 approved diagnostic tests. With a research background in population genomics, they initiated a major genomics initiative aimed at analyzing up to 2 million human genomes, contributing to early drug discovery. Recognized as a leader in the field with over 100 publications, Dr. March has also been honored as an OBE for their contributions during the Covid-19 pandemic and continues to advocate for diversity and inclusion in health sciences.
