Ryan Richards, Ph.D., is currently an Associate Principal Scientist at AstraZeneca, specializing in translational PKPD modeling, simulation, and leading DMPK projects. Their research at UMass Medical School as a postdoctoral researcher focused on predicting effective combination therapies in cancer through the regulation of the cell death network. Ryan earned a Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Biophysics, and Molecular Biology from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, where their doctoral work elucidated the molecular elements influencing the function of channelrhodopsin-2. Prior to this, Ryan served as a Senior Scientist in DMPK at AstraZeneca and taught undergraduate laboratories in biochemistry and chemistry.
