Sara Bass

Sara Bass is an Associate Director in Translational Medicine Genomics within Early Oncology R&D at AstraZeneca. With over 20 years of bench science experience and more than a decade in management, Sara has expertise in molecular and cell biology and genetics, specializing in nucleic acid purifications, PCR, and Next-Gen sequencing. Previously, they managed the Research Group at the Cancer Genomics Research Laboratory at Leidos Biomedical Research Inc., focusing on genetic factors for carcinogenesis. Sara also held positions at SAIC-Frederick, Inc., where they conducted molecular biology research, and they played a leadership role as a Girl Scout Troop Leader for over a decade. Sara obtained a BS in Human Nutrition, Foods and Exercise from Virginia Tech and an MS in Biomedical Science from Hood College.
