Sean Zhao

Sean Zhao is a senior pharmaceutical executive with over 15 years of experience in diverse areas such as pharmacovigilance, risk management, and pharmacoepidemiology. They have successfully built and led global safety departments, managing safety surveillance teams and alliances across various biotech and pharmaceutical companies. Previously, they held positions including Executive Medical Director at Amgen and Vice President of Global Safety at Amylin Pharmaceuticals. Sean currently serves as the Head of US Patient Safety at AstraZeneca, overseeing patient safety surveillance activities in the US. They hold an MD from Beijing Medical University, a Master's in Biostatistics, and a Ph.D. in Epidemiology from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
