Sharon Barr

Sharon Barr is an accomplished pharmaceutical executive currently serving as Executive Vice President and Head of Biopharmaceuticals R&D at AstraZeneca since July 2021. Prior to this role, Barr held multiple senior positions at Alexion Pharmaceuticals, Inc., including Senior Vice President and Head of Rare Disease Research and Product Development. Barr's extensive experience includes leadership roles in research and development, data sciences, bioinformatics, and diagnostics at Alexion and Astellas Pharma, and a foundational background in translational research at OSI Pharmaceuticals and Stanford University Medical Center, where Barr completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Molecular Pharmacology.
