Simon Byrne

Simon Byrne is a strategic marketing professional with a scientific background, currently serving as the VP of Strategy and Early Commercial R&I at AstraZeneca. Previously, they held various roles at AstraZeneca, including Business Unit Director for Respiratory and Immunology, and were involved in the development of Tezepelumab. Simon's foundational research experience includes a postdoctoral position at the University of Oxford, where they specialized in drug development for cancer treatments. They also contributed as a Senior Consultant at IMS Health, focusing on therapeutic product evaluation and strategic insights. Simon holds a first-class honours degree in Chemistry and a PhD in Synthetic Organic Chemistry, both from the University of Bath.
