Sumit D.

Sumit D. is currently an Associate Principal Scientist in Genome Engineering at AstraZeneca, a position they began in 2021 after joining the team as a Senior Research Scientist in 2018. They have extensive experience in genome-editing technology, cell and gene therapy, and advanced mouse model development. Sumit holds a PhD in Immunology from the Max Planck Institute and completed postdoctoral training in functional genomics at the Vienna Biocenter, along with a Master's in Pharmaceutical Sciences from NIPER, India. They co-edited the first book in the field titled "Genome Editing in Drug Discovery" in 2022.
