Ya-Ping Ko

Ya-Ping Ko, Ph.D., is currently the Associate Director of Small Molecule Discovery Research at Alexion AstraZeneca Rare Disease. With over 20 years of multidisciplinary biomedical research experience, they specialize in oncology, immunology, and drug development, having secured approximately $2.2 million in grant funding, authored more than 19 peer-reviewed publications, and been awarded a patent. Ya-Ping earned a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Cologne and has previously held roles at institutions such as Texas A&M University and Achillion Pharmaceuticals. They have demonstrated expertise in translational research and complement biology, contributing significantly to the understanding of infectious diseases and immunotherapy.
