Senior Lead Engineer at ASTRI

Sharon Mingyue Yao has extensive work experience in the field of electrical and control engineering. Sharon, Mingyue began their career in 2014 as an intern at ASTRI, where they worked on hardware design and function module realization. Sharon, Mingyue also provided product demos and assisted in solving customer problems.

In 2015, Sharon joined Solomon Systech Limited as a Field Application Engineer. Their responsibilities included preparing product specifications and demos for customers, as well as providing on-site problem-solving support based on customer needs.

Returning to ASTRI in 2016, Sharon worked as an Engineer, focusing on micro-architecture design, HDL coding, logic synthesis, and timing analysis. Sharon, Mingyue also provided solutions for image and video processing algorithms and performed simulations in MATLAB.

In 2020, Sharon joined the Hong Kong Industrial Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Centre (FLAIR) as an Engineer in the electrical and control department. After two years with FLAIR, they joined ASTRI again in 2022, this time as a Senior Lead Engineer. In this role, Sharon carries out micro-architecture design, HDL coding, logic synthesis, timing analysis, and functional verification and FPGA prototyping.

Sharon, Mingyue Yao completed their Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering at Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics from 2009 to 2013. Sharon, Mingyue then pursued a Master of Science (Msc) degree in Electrical, Electronic, and Communications Engineering Technology/Technician at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology from 2013 to 2014. Additionally, in September 2020, they obtained several certifications in the LabVIEW environment, including LabVIEW Programming Fundamentals, LabVIEW Sequential Programming, and LabVIEW Troubleshooting Code, from the National Instruments in the United States.
