Xiaodong Chen

Xiaodong Chen is a highly experienced machine learning professional currently serving as a Senior Engineer at the Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI) since October 2022, after previously holding the position of Engineer (PI) in the same field. Prior experience includes a role as Technical Officer in AI and Robotics at the Hong Kong Productivity Council from December 2021 to October 2022, where Xiaodong designed and developed a cloud-edge system that significantly enhanced model detection speed. Academic qualifications include a Master’s degree in Telecommunications from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and a Bachelor's degree in Network Engineering from Guangdong University of Technology. Additional experience encompasses positions as a Research Assistant and Student Helper, contributing to advancements in object segmentation and license plate recognition systems, as well as a research internship focused on human-robot interaction applications.
