Cyber Security Engineer Sr. at Astronautics

Robert Hood has a diverse work experience in cybersecurity and engineering. Robert is currently working at Astronautics Corporation of America as a Cyber Security Engineer Sr., where they focus on aerospace cybersecurity using model-based systems engineering and modern security tools. Robert performs continuous monitoring of systems for emerging threats and conducts penetration testing campaigns.

Robert also has experience in the United States Air Force. Robert served as a Section Leader (Environmental & Electrical) from 2012 to 2016, a Program Manager and Tool Room Shift Leader from 2011 to 2012, a Honor Guard Flight Manager and Event Scheduler in 2010, and an Electrical & Environmental Systems Craftsman from 2005 to 2010.

Robert Hood completed their Bachelor of Computer Science degree in Computer Science at Park University from 2009 to 2016. Following that, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Cybersecurity at Utica University from 2019 to 2022. Robert obtained additional certifications including the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)² in February 2022, CompTIA Security+ ce from CompTIA in June 2016, and Security+ from CompTIA in June 2016. Robert also holds a Certified Fiber Optic Technician (CFOT) certification from the Fiber Optic Association (FOA), though the exact date of its acquisition is unknown.
