Eric Velazquez currently serves as the Major League Assistant Athletic Trainer for the Houston Astros, a position held since December 2021. Prior to this role, Eric held various positions with the Boston Red Sox, including Minor League Athletic Trainer Coordinator and Minor League Athletic Trainer from January 2016 to December 2021. Additional experience includes serving as an Athletic Trainer for the WBC Team Columbia in March 2017, and roles with the New York Mets as a Minor League Athletic Trainer between March 2010 and December 2015. Eric has also worked as Head Athletic Trainer for Tiburones de La Guaira BBC and Leones del Escogido. Educationally, Eric obtained a Master’s Degree in Athletic Training from Stephen F. Austin State University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Biology from the University of California, Davis.
