Aya Iwamoto currently serves as the Lead for Japan Space Policy at Astroscale since August 2022, following a distinguished tenure as Director of Japan Space Policy at the same organization. Prior to joining Astroscale, Aya Iwamoto worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan from April 2003 to February 2020, culminating in the role of Assistant Director. Aya Iwamoto holds a Master's degree in Transnational Law Policy from Tohoku University and an M. Phil in South Asian Studies from Jawaharlal Nehru University, in addition to a Bachelor's degree in Law from Tohoku University.
