Principal Engineer

Emily Schauer is a Principal Engineer at Astroscale, where since August 2021, Emily has served as the Technical Lead for the Life Extension In Space (LEXI) Development Program, managing the development of on-orbit servicing capabilities and orchestrating a team of 30 engineers. Prior to this role, Emily accumulated over a decade of experience at Lockheed Martin, where positions ranged from Senior Systems Engineer in the Optical Payload Center of Excellence to Software Engineer, enhancing various aerospace systems, managing complete lifecycles of spacecraft components, and leading agile development efforts. Emily holds a Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology and a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Colorado Denver.
