Simon Laine is an experienced aerospace engineer currently serving as a Mission Engineer at Astroscale since July 2023, focusing on mission analysis and design for space situational awareness and debris removal. Previously, Simon worked at Surrey Satellite Technology Ltd (SSTL) from September 2018 to June 2023 in various roles, including Systems Engineer on the Lunar Communications and Navigation Services study and a Business Development and Sales Engineer. Earlier experience includes serving as Vice-President at Bristol SEDS, where Simon led projects for lunar rover and rocketry competitions, and working as a Systems Engineer at Thales Alenia Space on simulations for cryocooler designs and Mars Sample Return Facility projects. Simon holds a Master of Engineering (MEng) in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Bristol.
