ATHENA International is a global nonprofit dedicated to advancing conscious leadership that creates lasting impact for individuals, organizations, and communities.

For over four decades, ATHENA has elevated and developed leaders through a values-based framework grounded in the ATHENA Eight Principles of Enlightened Leadership™: Live Authentically, Learn Constantly, Build Relationships, Foster Collaboration, Act Courageously, Advocate Fiercely, Give Back, and Celebrate.

Our work recognizes that leadership is not positional—it is relational and ethical. Through leadership development programs, awards, community initiatives, and global partnerships, ATHENA equips leaders of all genders, ages, and backgrounds to lead with integrity, courage, and care—especially in times of complexity and change.

ATHENA is best known for its globally respected ATHENA Leadership Award®, which honors individuals who demonstrate excellence in professional achievement, service to community, and active support for developing future leaders. We also offer immersive leadership development experiences that integrate self-awareness, systems thinking, trauma-informed practice, and evidence-based tools—always in service of human-centered leadership.

At our core, ATHENA believes leadership is a responsibility to the greater good. We honor those who came before us, invest in those leading today, and intentionally create pathways for those who will lead tomorrow.

Leadership that endures. Impact that multiplies. A future shaped together.
