Atanas Goranov

Atanas Goranov, CFA, FRM, currently serves as SVP and Chief Derivatives Risk Officer at Athene, where responsibilities include chairing the Derivatives Risk Committee, leading the derivatives risk management team, overseeing derivative trade execution, and governance of risk policies. Prior to Athene, Atanas held the position of Managing Director and Derivatives Risk Officer at Guardian Life, managing all derivative activities and strategies, and previously worked as Vice President of Risk Management at GE Asset Management, overseeing a $160 billion portfolio. Atanas started a career in financial management at GE Capital and Isotimpex, which included leading audits and trading activities. Atanas holds an MBA in Business and Finance from American University and a diploma in International Economic Relations from Moscow State Institute of International Relations.
