Scott D. has extensive experience in tax management and financial reporting, currently serving as Vice President and Tax Controller at Athene USA since February 2015. In this role, Scott D. oversees financial reporting of income taxes for US GAAP and Bermuda statutory bases, focusing on life and nonlife income tax provisions, including complex tax regulations such as the US corporate alternative minimum tax and the OECD Pillar Two tax. Prior to Athene USA, Scott D. held the position of Property & Casualty Tax Director at Allianz, managing tax reporting for a group of 18 insurance companies, and developed internal controls to ensure compliance. Additionally, Scott D. served in various tax-related roles at Aviva USA, Principal Financial Group, Gardiner Thomsen CPAs, and Burton Partners. Scott D. holds an MBA in Finance from Western Illinois University and a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from Loras College.
