Ted Rybka

Director Of Communications at Athlete Ally

Ted Rybka has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Ted started their career in 1996 as an Office Manager at Database Technologies and later worked at Skyview Networks as a Night Manager, where they supervised staff and produced voice commercials. In 2002, they joined WestStar Talk Radio Network as an Associate Editor, where they researched and wrote material for radio talk shows and Microsoft.com. From 2005 to 2006, they served as an Associate Editor at Echo Magazine, contributing to a nationally-ranked radio talk show and Microsoft.com. In 2006, they became the Editor-in-Chief of Compete Magazine, where they created an LGBT sports magazine. Ted also served as the Director of Sports Media at the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation from 2007 to 2010, where they launched and managed a program to promote fair and inclusive coverage of the LGBT community in sports. From 2010 to 2012, they worked as a Channel Editor at WorldNow, producing content and interactive features for the company's channels. Ted then founded Rybka Consulting in 2012, working as a Communications Consultant. Most recently, they have been the Director of Communications at Athlete Ally since 2016.

Ted Rybka attended Loyold High School from 1984 to 1989, where they obtained their High School Diploma. Ted then enrolled at Arizona State University and graduated with a B.A. in Russian in 1996. Returning to Arizona State University, they pursued a Masters in Mass Communication with a focus on Broadcast Journalism, which they completed in 2000.
