Simon Smith

Simon Smith is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in the nuclear sector. Currently serving as Chief Engineer at AtkinsRéalis since September 2023, Simon previously held various leadership roles at James Fisher Nuclear Limited from August 2004 to August 2023, including Head of Engineering Governance, EHSSQ Director, Head of Quality, and Head of Engineering. Responsibilities spanned engineering governance, compliance with health and safety legislation, and quality system improvements, with successful transitions to ISO standards. Simon's early career includes positions as Engineering Manager, Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, and Design Engineer at JFN, as well as internships at Loughborough University and BP. Simon holds an MEng in Mechanical Engineering from Loughborough University, obtained in 2004.
