Augustine Syn

Augustine has 30 years of business experience working with C-level executives and senior government officials in Europe, the US and Asia, and across multiple industry sectors such as Aerospace & Defence, Environmental Engineering, Oil & Gas and Information & Communications Technology.

From 2007 to 2021, Augustine was the Senior Vice President (Europe) based in London for Singapore-listed ST Engineering, a Temasek-linked company. In addition to developing new opportunities in Smart Cities and Urban Transportation, he was involved in the €250m acquisition of a satellite communications company and a strategic co-investment with Atlantic Bridge in Cloudsphere.

Prior to ST Engineering, Augustine was a Defence Counsellor for 5 years at the Singapore Embassy in Paris, where he oversaw strategic cooperation agreements between Europe and Singapore.

Augustine holds a Master’s degree in Photonics Engineering (1989) from France, where he studied on a Singapore government scholarship. In 2001, he was sponsored by the Singapore government to attend the INSEAD Asian International Executive Programme. More recently, he obtained an MIT Professional Certificate in Quantum Computing in 2018 and has given talks on the subject.

Augustine remains a Non-Executive Director of ST Engineering in the UK and is also the Non-Executive Chairman of Insight Terra, a portfolio company of Atlantic Bridge.
