Albert Ryou

Quantum Engineer at Atom Computing

Albert Ryou has worked in a variety of roles in the field of quantum engineering and research. In 2020, they began working as a Quantum Engineer at Atom Computing. From 2017 to 2020, they were a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Washington, where they explored light-matter interactions in 2D materials and nanophotonics and characterized subwavelength diffraction optics. From 2012 to 2017, they were a Research Assistant at the University of Chicago, where they used AMO and quantum optics tools to build photonic quantum materials. In 2016, Albert was a Hardware Engineering Intern at Google. Albert also held research internships at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL), Louisiana State University, and NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory from 2011 to 2016. In 2009, they were a Research Assistant at the University of Pennsylvania.

Albert Ryou attended the University of Pennsylvania from 2007 to 2011, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Physics. Albert then went on to the University of Chicago from 2012 to 2017, where they earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Physics.
