Ian Bloomfield is a seasoned engineer with extensive experience in laser and opto-mechanical systems. Currently serving as a Senior Laser Engineer at Atom Computing since January 2025, Ian oversees all laser systems. Prior roles include Senior Opto-Mechanical Engineer and Laser Engineer at Infleqtion, where responsibilities included laser noise stabilization and leading system installations. Ian has also contributed as a Staff Engineer at Intelligent Imaging Innovations, focusing on the design and support of microscopy systems, and as Lead Developer at Bloomfield Automation, collaborating on software control systems. With foundational experience in engineering and business development from femtoScale/Alera Wellness and a background in data acquisition and laboratory maintenance from the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, Ian holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering from Colorado School of Mines.
